Early Fall Texoma Striper Season Report by Captain John Blasingame
Fall Striper Fishing Lake Texoma…….It’s outstanding! Lots of big fish out there today. Must have thrown back 20 or more over 20″ fish this morning. Let all but a couple of the big ones go. Lake Texoma just keeps getting better and better. The cooler temps helped get these fish fired up this morning. We must have released at least 20 over 20″ fish. The last week or so has been very good and most all my trips are limiting out, most days we are getting a few big fish to top it all off. Cooler weather will get these fish to feed and the gulls are here to help you find them. I’m still getting my best fish on slabs and boxfish are easy to get on swim baits. Fall is the Best Time to Striper Fish Texoma
The Fall Striper Fishing Lake Texoma 2017 Report is GREAT! I’ve been busy and had planned to do a post before I left to go do some dove hunting at my deer lease in West Texas. I forgot and couldn’t get a good enough signal which wasn’t such a bad thing. The fishing remains good and other than a couple days that I only managed about 20 fish, all trips have been catching good numbers. The bite is typically a little tougher this time of year and you gotta get on fish that want to feed. I’ve been using swim baits for fast action and good boxfish and we are still catching some larger fish on slabs. The water and the temperatures are starting to cool off and that generally means less boat traffic. The fish should really start feeding up for winter soon and the bite should be more aggressive. Gulls are starting to show up and do help point the way throughout the fall and winter. The fishing this fall should be awesome. I do have a few weekend dates left in the next couple months but not many. My weekdays are starting to fill up but I have quite a few days open.
